Geopolitical Intelligence Analyst - Middle East

Position Description

Seeking a geopolitical intelligence analyst to consult commercial businesses operating in complex and dynamic environments. Prospective candidates will be expected to provide strategic analysis and intelligence products to inform commercial businesses considering investments or business operations in the Middle East. Ongoing conflicts in countries such as Iran, Syria, Yemen, and Libya pose significant risks to businesses operating in the region. Therefore, candidates will be expected to analyze the potential impact of regional conflicts on business operations, to include the potential ramifications on supply chain logistics, local infrastructure and assets, personnel safety and security, and market volatility.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on geopolitical trends, risks, and opportunities in the Middle East region.
• Identify viable land and maritime shipping routes to advance commercial business operations.
• Assess the security and operational status of main ports and terminals along shipping routes, including information on cargo handling, storage, and security procedures.
• Provide assessments of conflict zones to include areas of active fighting, checkpoints, and other potential security risks.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region's politics, economics, and culture.
• Produce high-quality, actionable intelligence products for commercial businesses, including reports, briefings, and presentations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry experts, and business leaders.

Required Skills or Knowledge

• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify patterns and trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations.
• Proficiency in Arabic, Persian, or Turkish.
