Research Scientist, Toxin Diagnostic System

Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to customize and deploy monitoring systems for detecting toxins in complex matrices, including seawater and food products. The successful candidate will be responsible for customizing, developing, and optimizing detection systems and methods that integrate sample preparation and detection technologies, including the customized development of detection protocols, assay conditions, reagents, and assay validation procedures. The results will be presented through a user-friendly interface to display toxin content quantitatively for a variety of commercial users.

Required Skills or Knowledge

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Strong background in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or detection technologies.
• Knowledge of sample preparation techniques, such as extraction and purification.
• Experience with detection device development, including sensor and biosensor technologies.
• Experience in optimizing detection methods for various analytes.
• Proficiency in programming languages, such as R and Python. for data analysis and modeling.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• knowledge of signal processing and data analysis.
• Familiarity with ruggedization and miniaturization of detection devices.
